Veteran-Focused Yoga Therapy at Rewired for Peace is a trauma-informed, nervous system–based approach designed to support veterans in restoring balance, resilience, and a sense of safety in the body. These sessions acknowledge the unique physical, emotional, and neurological impacts of military service and create a supportive space where healing can occur at an individual pace.
Led by Yoga Therapist Kim Shaffer, sessions focus on regulating the stress response, improving sleep, reducing chronic tension and pain, and building tools for emotional self-regulation. Practices may include gentle, adaptive movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and body-based strategies that help calm hyperarousal and reconnect mind and body.
Veteran-focused sessions are offered with respect, choice, and autonomy at the center of the experience. No prior yoga experience is required, and all practices are modified to meet physical limitations, injuries, or comfort levels. Whether addressing PTSD, anxiety, chronic stress, or the challenges of transition to civilian life, Yoga Therapy provides practical tools that support healing, stability, and long-term well-being.
